After completing her Bachelor of Environmental Engineering at Dalhousie University, Kaylyn spent three years working as an engineer focusing on the environmental management of thermal power generation facilities in Nova Scotia. Feeling unfulfilled by her role—and simultaneously drawn to digital with a desire to flex her creative muscle—Kaylyn started learning web design and development in her free time. She began by designing logos and building websites for friends for fun. This quickly grew into a side hustle, to the point that she eventually left her engineering career to pursue freelance web design and development full-time.
Kaylyn spent two years developing her design and code skills through working with diverse clients on branding, web design, and development projects. Although she enjoyed the flexibility of freelance, after two years, she was ready for something new. After spending some time working in the tech startup space, Kaylyn joined Kula as a front-end developer.
When she’s not in the office, you’ll find Kaylyn channelling her inner-yogi, adventuring in the woods, or binge-watching Friends.
