Cape Breton University is home to students from around the world enjoying small class sizes, affordable tuition rates, and unique programs you won’t find anywhere else. When CBU approached Kula Partners, they were interested in a new website to complement the rebranding they were undergoing. Through a revamped website, as well as adopting Inbound marketing solutions, CBU’s goal was to attract new students, retain current ones, and foster community and support from their alumni.
To begin, we completely redesigned www.cbu.ca to make it mobile-friendly and simple to navigate. From here, we:
- Integrated HubSpot (making CBU the first university in Atlantic Canada to do so)
- Worked with CBU’s recruitment department to implement an inbound marketing strategy, including developing content offers and nurturing sequences for Canadian students, with segmentation and distinct personas depending on geographical location
- Optimized their AdWords efforts to promote more unique program offerings and support targeted traffic and lead acquisition
- Worked in conjunction with their internal team to develop an SEO-focused blog content calendar to grow organic traffic and deliver useful information to students
Since our relationship began, CBU has leveraged information collected using content offers and nurturing sequences to help recruiters follow up with prospective students who converted on the site. They have also been able to use this information to make contact while attending recruitment fairs across the country.
CBU has fully embraced inbound methodology, expanding their efforts to effectively communicate with other audiences such as current students, alumni, and more.
